California Advancement Researchers Association (CARA) will hold its 2002
Summer Workshop, "Straw Into Gold," at Pomona College in Claremont,
California on June 6th and 7th. In an effort to collaborate with

Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA) and a longtime advocate
of research in the fundraising process, will kick off the program. His
current experience as Senior Director of Prospect Development at the
American Red Cross in Washington, D.C., will offer us a glimpse of

ample opportunity to network and socialize with other fund raising
professionals, share ideas, and become involved in CARA's vision for the
CARA's Summer Workshop will make good use of Pomona's beautiful campus
with a garden lunch at historic Seaver House and an outdoor evening
reception in a park like glen. The Smith Campus Center, where class
sessions will be held, is a handsome state of the art building. Nearby
Claremont Village offers many interesting shops and restaurants.
