The Nature Conservancy of Washington is seeking qualified candidates for a development research assistant position. This position would provide profiles on major donor prospects using print and electronic resources. Analyzes background information on individuals, foundations and corporations. A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field and one year experience in prospect research experience is preferred. Solid knowledge of word-processing, database management and spreadsheet software, along with ability to navigate and use the Internet. Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices, preferably in a non-profit environment. Ability to conduct research with an emphasis on assessing wealth and giving capacity. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to independently analyze and use sound judgement to identify and solve problems. Interpret guidelines and analyze factual information to achieve desired results. Duties are performed under minimal supervision. This position will have flexible hours and the ability to work from home. This is a part-time position that will end on or before June 30, 2005 with the possibility of full-time employment beginning July 1, 2005.
