DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT



POSITION PURPOSE

Under the general direction of the Vice President for College
Advancement/Executive Director of the Foundation and working with
members of the Board of Governors, the Director of Development is
responsible for working with the development staff and other campus
leaders to design, organize, and implement a comprehensive development
program for the College. The program incorporates annual fund raising,
major individual, corporate, and foundation.



NATURE AND SCOPE

The Director of Development serves as the primary manager of portfolios
of major prospects and will plan, manage and direct a comprehensive
development program to include annual giving, cultivation and fund
raising events and volunteer support, and other cultivation efforts.
This position oversees and supervises Major Gifts staff and the Annual
Fund Manager. The position works closely with the Director of Alumni
Affairs, Director of College Relations and the Planned Giving Officer.
The Director of Development position is a full-time "at will"
appointment, exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and state civil
service rules.
