Supports the prospect research program that will foster all fundraising activities for Woodland Park Zoo. Assists with the prospect identification, research and tracking needs of development staff, enabling them to meet fundraising goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Collaborates to develop prospect identification and qualification plan in support of growing major gifts culture through keeping up with current events, national and local news, analyzing electronic database screening results and other sources.

Supports donor prospect management process: tracks prospect assignments, readiness, capacity and other relevant information; updates and maintains prospect tracking module; and prepares various reports.

Assists in research profiles on individual, corporate & foundation prospects; which includes relevant biographical, philanthropic, financial and relational information.

Provides research services and assistance to the development team and zoo-wide.

Maintains and adheres to policies around information gathering and sharing in accordance with professional ethics standards. Safeguards the confidentiality of donor information at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently, handle confidential information with discretion, and meet deadlines required

Must maintain the professional and ethical standards set forth for the field by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).

Extensive knowledge of database systems, strong computer skills using Microsoft Windows and advanced Internet navigation skills required. Experience with The Raiser's Edge is preferred

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience in development and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
