Subject: [APRA-NW] Job Posting: Research Associate Position at University of Puget Sound

Hello APRA-NW Members,

The research associate position at the University of Puget Sound is open. (Erin Culbertson is still here – she is moving across the hall to become a development officer!) Here is an abbreviated job description, the link to the Puget Sound Web site for the position, and how to apply. Thank you for your consideration.

Research Associate
Office of University Relations

The research associate identifies, tracks, and reports about potential funding sources for the university by collecting, analyzing and synthesizing affiliation and financial information. Reporting to the director of University Relations Research, the research associate collaborates with other staff members to formulate strategies of engagement, cultivation, and solicitation to meet Puget Sound’s fund-raising goals. The research associate is also responsible for conceptualizing and requesting analytical reports that will aggregate information; researching and producing biographical reports about individuals, corporations and foundations for senior management; performing information searches using fee-based and free database products and other resources; and collaborating with the director regarding budget issues, the annual plan for the department, and the management of student staff members.

The research associate should possess a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience, preferably in prospect research. For additional candidate qualifications, please see the full job description on the University of Puget Sound Web site at http://www.ups.edu/x31669.xml.

The University of Puget Sound is an independent, residential liberal arts college with approximately 2500 undergraduates and 200 graduate students enrolled in three programs. The university, as a community of learning, maintains a strong commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly engagement, and fruitful student-faculty interaction. Puget Sound seeks to develop in its students capacities for critical analysis, aesthetic appreciation, sound judgment, and apt expression that will sustain a lifetime of intellectual curiosity, active inquiry, and reasoned independence.

As a strategic goal and through our core values, University of Puget Sound is committed to an environment that welcomes and supports diversity. We seek diversity of identity, thought, perspective, and background in our students, faculty, and staff. EOE/AA

A review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. To apply, submit letter of interest, resume and names of three references to:
