Historians-
If you will be in Seattle this Summer, we are offering a very interesting class on "Race & Power in America, 1861-1940." This class will look at how historical power struggles have shaped and re-shaped race in the United States from the start of the Civil War to the start of World War II.
The class will cover topics like:
Birthright Citizenship
Black freedom and Jim Crow
Settler colonial assimilation and Indigenous resistance
Mass migration and growth of cities
Origins of modern policing
Progressive reform and the rise of the welfare state
Creation of US Border Patrol and Immigration quotas
Overseas Imperialism in Asia, Latin America, & the Caribbean
and much more!

See attached flyer.

Sincerely,
Mark
