Asia Business Forum November 19: Cultural Protocols in Asia – Beyond Business 101

Special Guest Speaker: Holly Vineyard, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Asia

Many of the cultural basics of international business are common knowledge, but what about the deeper elements? In this Asia Business Forum, we will examine cultural protocols surrounding business in Asia and go beyond the “101” level. Our speakers will discuss cultural, political and economic nuances that can have an impact on your business in Asia. What are factors in negotiation that might be influencing the way your counterparty is responding? What are the subtler cues? Are there outside forces affecting the progress of your business in Asia? How can you prepare yourself for new business overseas, adjust your existing models to be more effective, or effectively draw business from Asia to your products/services here in the U.S.?
