Installing Windows after Linux

I think Win98's problem is that:

(a) it wants to be on the first primary partition of the primary master
drive. You'll have to ensure that you reserve that space away when you
fdisk the drive.

(b) it wants to replace the boot strapper to its own, thus killing
LILO. But, you could do a rescue boot into your linux partition and
re-install LILO.

There could be more issues, but these are the most basic issues, I think.
