That pretty much is the benefit. I think you might be able to raise money
on campus, and host events. Plus you get web space, email addresses, etc.
Basically, it requires very little effort and the benefits are quite nice.

Don't know too much about the benefits, but I imagine it helps when trying
to reserve meeting rooms and organizing other events on campus.
