The UW School of Law's Tech Policy Lab has an outstanding opportunity open for a Project-Based Technology & Society Coordinator. This is a tri-campus position hosted by the Tech Policy Lab at the School of Law.

The University of Washington Technology & Society Coordinator is responsible for coordinating research, learning, and other activities related to the intersection of technology and society, including by maintaining an online presence, managing listservs, hosting events, and supporting cross-disciplinary technology and society initiatives. The position will support all three University of Washington campuses but will be based at the University of Washington Seattle campus. This is a 100% FTE position with a 12-month initial appointment, with potential to renew.

Responsibilities:

Build and Maintain Listservs and Website: 20%

* Develop and maintain one or more listservs, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.

* Regularly update and manage the University of Washington website, ensuring content is current, organized, and accessible to the intended audience.

* Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure the website reflects the University's goals, programs, and events.
Organize Events and Meetings: 20%

* Plan, coordinate, and execute various events and meetings, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and guest speaker series.

* Manage event logistics, such as venue bookings, audio-visual equipment setup, catering arrangements, and attendee registration.

* Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to ensure successful event execution.
Field Inquiries: 20%

* Serve as the primary point of contact for technology-related inquiries from faculty, staff, and students.

* Respond promptly to inquiries, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.

* Collaborate with the IT department or external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
Liaise Between Technology and Society Centers and Labs: 20%

* Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the School of Law's technology team and various society centers and labs.

* Identify technology needs and requirements of different centers and labs, ensuring alignment with overall department objectives.

* Coordinate technology projects and initiatives in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
Support Cross-Disciplinary Certificates: 20%

* Assist in the administration of cross-disciplinary certificates, such as Science, Technology, and Society Studies (STSS), by providing technology support.

* Collaborate with faculty and staff involved in cross-disciplinary programs to ensure smooth coordination and implementation.

* Contribute to the development of online platforms or resources to enhance the delivery of cross-disciplinary certificate programs.

Qualifications:


* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
* Proficiency in website management platforms, content management systems, and listserv tools.
* Strong organizational and project management skills to effectively plan and coordinate events and meetings.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.
* Familiarity with cross-disciplinary academic programs and an understanding of their unique technology needs.
* Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues and coordinate with IT professionals for complex problems.
